Question:

134 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will provide an analysis of the nature of violent assaults reported to the Garda on Dublin's northside over the past five years, distinguishing cases involving the use of an offensive weapon, cases where theft was the main motive, cases that occurred as a result of rows at pubs or night-clubs and so on. [19570/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 132 to 134, inclusive, together.

I am further informed by the Garda authorities that it is not possible to provide an analysis of the nature of assaults of the kind requested by the Deputy, as that information is not readily available and could only be obtained by the expenditure of a disproportionate amount of time and resources.
