Vol. 556 No. 2

Written Answers. - Taxi Industry Deregulation.

Seán Crowe

Question:

108 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Transport if he will report on the progress of the taxi hardship panel; and the measures which have been taken to practically alleviate the suffering and hardship of those affected by the Government's decision to deregulate the taxi industry. [19588/02]

I have very recently received a copy of the panel's report and will give it careful consideration, following which I will submit implementation proposals to Government. As stated in the Agreed Programme for Government, the Government is committed to the implementation of the recommendations of the panel.
