Referrals to Select Committees: Motions.

I move:

"That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the following proposals:

that Dáil Éireann approves the terms of the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an Association between the European Communities and their Member States, of the one part, and the Arab Republic of Egypt, of the other part, signed at Luxembourg on 25th June, 2001, which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 24th April, 2002;

that Dáil Éireann approves the terms of the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an Association between the European Community and its Member States, of the one part, and the Republic of Lebanon, of the other part, signed at Luxembourg on 17th June, 2002, which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 23rd July, 2002;

that Dáil Éireann approves the terms of the Euro-Mediterranean Agreement establishing an Association between the European Community and its Member States, of the one part, and the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, of the other part, signed at Valencia on 22nd April, 2002, which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 11th July, 2002;

be referred to the Select Committee on Foreign Affairs, in accordance with paragraph (1)(a)(iii) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, which shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 85, and Standing Order 84(2) shall accordingly apply.”

I move:

"That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the following Regulations in draft:

Freedom of Information Act, 1997 (Prescribed Bodies) (No. 2) Regulations, 2002, copies of which were laid in draft form before Dáil Éireann on 18th October, 2002, be referred to the Select Committee on Fin ance and the Public Service, in accordance with paragraph (1)(a)(iii) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, which shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 85, and Standing Order 84(2) shall accordingly apply.”

Question put and agreed to.

I move:

"That the proposal that Dáil Éireann approve the terms of reference of the Agreement between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on Police Co-operation which was signed on 29th April, 2002, in Belfast on behalf of the Government of Ireland by the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform and a copy of which was laid before Dáil Éireann on 8th October, 2002, be referred to the Select Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights, in accordance with paragraph (1)(a)(iii) of the Orders of Reference of that Committee, which shall send a message to the Dáil in the manner prescribed in Standing Order 85, and Standing Order 84(2) shall accordingly apply.”

To which committee is it being referred?

Deputy Mitchell did raise the matter of the committees to which these matters are being referred and today's Order Paper provides information in that regard. This particular motion is being referred to the Select Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights.

I move:

"That the Order of the Dáil of 19th June, 2002, that the Central Bank and Financial Services Authority of Ireland Bill, 2002, be considered in Committee of the whole Dáil be discharged and that the Bill be referred to the Select Committee on Finance and the Public Service pursuant to Standing Order 120(1) and paragraph 1(a)(i) of the Committee's Orders of Reference.”
