Vol. 556 No. 3

Written Answers. - Personal Injuries Assessment Board.

John Dennehy

Question:

154 Mr. Dennehy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment when she envisages the proposed personal injuries assessment board will be established; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [20112/02]

When I announced a comprehensive programme for the fundamental reform of the Irish insurance market on 25 October 2002, the package of measures concerned included the immediate establishment of a personal injuries assessment board – PIAB – on an interim basis, and priority drafting of legislation to establish the PIAB on a statutory footing.

I also announced the composition of the board.
