Written Answers. - Home Help Service.

Jack Wall

Question:

186 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the position of his Department in regard to the provision of the home help scheme, as envisaged in the proposal by the Irish Senior Citizens' Parliament; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20770/02]

A proposal regarding improved operation of the home help scheme is contained in the recent pre-budget submission by the Irish Senior Citizens' Parliament. The proposal centres on greater integration of the home help service and will be considered in the light of budgetary provisions for 2003. Specific additional funding was provided for the home help service in each of the past three years.
