Question:

211 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of persons over 18 years of age convicted of drink or drink related offences in each of the Garda divisions for each of the past two years; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20783/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 210 and 211 together.

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the information sought by the Deputy is not readily available. It would require a considerable amount of Garda time to compile the information in the format specified in the Deputy's question which I hope he will appreciate could not be justified.

Details relating to drink related offences are published in the Annual Report of An Garda Síochána, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library. The latest report is in respect of 2000. The annual report for the year 2001 is not yet published.
