Question:

175 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the latest estimates available to him of headline and nonheadline assaults in Dublin and in the rest of the country for 2001 and to date in 2002. [20925/02]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the following tables show the numbers of headline and non-headline assaults for the years 2000 and 2001 for the Dublin metropolitan region and for the rest of the state.
