Written Answers. - Proposed Legislation.
The Government authorised in February 2002 the development of proposals including the drafting of the heads of a Bill to consolidate and update the Diseases of Animals Acts, 1966 to 2001. The formulation of the heads is now well advanced in my Department. Many of my Department's activities are governed by EU legislation and thus not amenable to consolidation by an individual member state.
