Vol. 556 No. 5

Written Answers. - Official Engagements.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

44 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he has had a request from an organisation (details supplied) for a meeting; if he will agree a date for such a meeting; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20692/02]

The formal mechanism that exists for consultation with the special partner farming organisations is supplemented by regular contact and communication with the organisations at national level. All relevant issues raised by farming organisations are therefore addressed regularly and in detail. Numerous requests for meetings from local branches of farm organisations are received, but unfortunately it is not always possible to accommodate them. The dissemination of the outcome of national consultations to their branches is a matter for the farming organisations themselves.

Question No. 45 answered with Question No. 26.
