Vol. 556 No. 5

Written Answers. - Insurance Industry.

Finian McGrath

Question:

85 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment her view on the difficulties experienced by a young person of 27 years of age who wants to go back to college and who cannot get insurance cover for a taxi in order to support their studies; and will she do anything about this situation. [21024/02]

I have no responsibility in this matter. Insurance companies are free to make their own decisions in relation to provision of insurance cover. This position is underpinned by EU law.
