Question:

159 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when premia payments will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [21776/02]

The person named submitted one special beef premium application for 12 animals under the 2002 scheme. An 80% advance payment totalling €1,440 issued on 16 October 2002, the first date for such payments in accordance with EU regulations.

The person named slaughtered four animals on 20 September 2002. The four animals were deemed eligible for slaughter premium and two of the four were further deemed eligible for national envelope top-up. Payments for the amounts of €256.00 and €36.56, which represent an 80% instalment on the respective schemes, issued on 16 October 2002.

The person named also had four animals slaughtered on 18 October 2002. Payment under the slaughter premium will issue on these four in early December, subject to compliance with eligibility requirements.

The person named did not submit an application under the 2002 suckler cow premium scheme.

He participated in the 2001 extensification premium scheme opting for the simplified system. He was paid in full.

A payment under the 2002 area based compensatory allowance totalling €2,955.78 was made on 11 November 2002.
