Vol. 557 No. 2

Written Answers. - Bovine Disease Controls.

Ned O'Keeffe

Question:

160 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Cork may purchase cattle following an outbreak of tuberculosis on their land. [21777/02]

The person indicated has been informed by the local district veterinary office that under the regulations for the TB eradication scheme, he cannot buy in cattle until his herd has passed one clear test. A test has been fixed for 3 December and if his herd passes this test, he will be free to purchase cattle on request for a permit to do so from the district veterinary office.
