Vol. 557 No. 2

Written Answers. - General Medical Services Scheme.

Batt O'Keeffe

Question:

245 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason the South-Eastern Health Board has not refunded payment in respect of incontinent wear to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21898/02]

My Department is in ongoing contact with the ERHA and the health boards in relation to the issue raised by the Deputy and I am confident that difficulties which have arisen in particular areas can be resolved soon. In the meantime, as responsibility for the provision of health services in the Waterford area rests with the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matter and forward a reply direct to the Deputy.
