Vol. 557 No. 2

Written Answers. - Pension Provisions.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

268 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government when a pension will be awarded to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21846/02]

A pension and pension lump sum was awarded in 1986 when the person in question retired from what was then the national monuments service of the Office of Public Works. However, he disputed the basis of the pension calculations and despite numerous assurances that these were in fact correct, refused to accept either the pension or lump sum. The uprated pension, accumulated arrears and original lump sum can still be claimed, should the person wish to contact my Department.
