Vol. 557 No. 4

Written Answers. - General Practitioner Services.

Jim O'Keeffe

Question:

378 Mr. J. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to the major concerns in the Beara area due to the fact that a second permanent general practitioner has not been appointed there; and the steps being taken to deal with those concerns and to ensure a comprehensive medical service for the area. [22693/02]

The provision of general practitioner services for the population of the Beara peninsula is the responsibility of the chief executive officer of Southern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked him to investigate the matter and to reply directly to the Deputy.
