466 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if there is financial support for local authority, voluntary or private housing which are experiencing seriously high levels of radon; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22662/02]

Due to budgetary constraints, my Department will not be in a position to provide Exchequer funding for a radon remediation grant scheme in 2003. With regard to remediation options for reducing radon in existing buildings, I refer to the reply to Question No. 29 of 10 October 2002.
