Responsibility for the determination of eligibility to a medical card is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board, in this case, the South-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
