Vol. 557 No. 5

Written Answers. - Legislative Programme.

Jack Wall

Question:

77 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Arts, Sport and Tourism when he will bring forward the National Tourism Development Authority Bill to merge Bord Fáilte and CERT; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [22476/02]

Last November the Government approved the creation of a new national tourism development authority whose remit will include the promotion of training, human resource and marketing skills development in the tourism industry and other functions currently carried out by Bord Fáilte and CERT. This is one of the key tourism commitments in the Agreed Programme for Government. The National Tourism Development Authority Bill, the text of which was approved by Government earlier this week, will form part of the Government's legislative programme for the current Dáil session.
