I propose to take Questions Nos. 122 to 127, inclusive, and 130 to 140, inclusive, together.
My Department has an extensive primary school building programme for 2002 under way, details of which are available on my Department's website at www.education.ie. Architectural planning has commenced for major building projects at the schools referred to by the Deputy except at St. Mary's special school, Athlumney, Dangan national school, Scoil Colmcille, Duleek, Scoil Cocha, Kilcock, Scoil Mhuire, Moynalty and Rathregan national school, Batterstown. In relation to Clonard national school and Meath Hill national school, my Department has recently grant-aided significant refurbishment works at these schools. My Department has also made proposals to both Moynalvey national school and Bellewstown national school to enable them undertake improvement works.
In view of the extensive nature of the building programme, my Department has no plans at present to initiate architectural planning for any further major projects in the foreseeable future. Decisions on projects that are in architectural planning proceeding to tender and construction in 2003 will be taken in light of the allocations made for school building purposes and when all budgetary decisions have been taken by the Government. In the meantime, boards of management should use their devolved grants to ensure that essential health and safety issues at their schools are attended to.
