Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Emmet Stagg

Question:

178 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Health and Children the way in which the specific allocation of ?5 million for capital use for the learning for disability service in 2002 was expended; the specific projects which benefited from this allocation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23144/02]

The capital funding available to services to persons with an intellectual disability or autism in 2002 is €12.7 million. This funding is being expended by the health boards and voluntary agencies in line with the service priorities agreed by the regional intellectual disability consultative and development committees. My Department has asked the health boards for details of the specific projects which are being funded in 2002 and the information will be forwarded to the Deputy as soon as it becomes available.
