The national physical and sensory disability database is currently being rolled out nationally, following its launch last March. To date data on 14,165 individuals has been registered on the database. This figure represents just over 34% of the projected figures of 41,250 individuals for the database, based on those registered during phase one of the roll out of the database. However, it is noteworthy that some health boards have indicated that the final figures registered on the database may be lower than originally estimated. It is also worth noting that data collection has not yet commenced in either the Northern Area Health Board or the East Coast Area Health Board. Following is a summary containing the latest available statistics in this regard.
