Vol. 557 No. 6

Written Answers. - National Spatial Strategy.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

213 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if the forthcoming and long promised national spatial strategy will identify employment centres that ensure that nobody living in any part of the country will not be within a reasonable commuting distance of one of those centres. [23046/02]

The national spatial strategy, to be published shortly, will have a strong focus on policies which will help every region to grow to its potential and participate in a more balanced way in the country's continuing economic and social development. The national spatial strategy will establish a spatial framework to support the development of a greater range of employment opportunities in all regions.
