Vol. 557 No. 6

Written Answers. - CJD Prevalence.

Jack Wall

Question:

60 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in relation to an Irish study into the numbers of Irish people who may be infected with variant CJD, along the lines of a similar study in the UK published in a journal (details supplied) which showed that up to 7,000 Britons could have been infected with the disease; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [20823/02]

The next meeting of the CJD advisory group is to be held on Wednesday, 27 November. It is hoped that all remaining issues relating to the CJD prevalence study will be resolved in advance of the meeting.
