Vol. 557 No. 6

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

87 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive an extensification payment for 2001. [23068/02]

The person named participated in the 2001 extensification premium opting for the simplified system undertaking to keep the stocking density of his holding to less than 1.60 livestock units per hectare for each and every day of 2001. Under EU regulations, at pre-payment stage the Department is obliged to carry out stocking density cross-checks against the its cattle movement and monitoring system, CMMS. In this case, the Department carried out two stocking density cross-checks against CMMS – one at 1 June 2001 and another at 15 October 2001. Respective stocking densities of 1.2862 and 1.7818 livestock units per hectare were found and, accordingly, the person named has been found ineligible for 2001 extensification premium. In order that the person named can check the accuracy of the findings at 15 October 2001, arrangements have been made for the issue of a herd profile which can be expected shortly. The profile will show the date of birth of each animal over the age of six months found per CMMS to have been present on the holding on 15 October 2001.
