Vol. 557 No. 6

Written Answers. - Milk Quota.

Gerard Murphy

Question:

88 Mr. Murphy asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if extra milk quota will be granted to a person (details supplied) in County Cork. [23070/02]

Work on the allocation of the balance of the Agenda 2000 milk quota to certain categories of small and medium scale milk producers has now been completed and all applicants – including the person named – will be notified of the outcome in their own cases in the coming week.

Almost 6,500 applications were received under this scheme and, of these, approximately 1,700 were eligible for an allocation of quota. The quantities of quota allocated in individual cases will vary considerably as they are based on the specifics of each application. Allocations made under this scheme may be used to cover milk delivered during the current quota year.
