Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

93 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the position in relation to an application for a payment for a person (details supplied) in County Donegal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23076/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 92 and 93 together.

The holding of the person named was one of a number selected for special audit inspection in accordance with EU regulations. The results of this inspection are being finalised and are due to be completed by the end of the month. Until this audit exercise is completed, no arable payments or area related payments can be made to the person named.
The person named has 41 animals eligible under the 2002 slaughter premium scheme for slaughtering during the period January to September 2002. Payment for the amount of €2,624, which represents an 80% advance payment on the 41 animals, issued on 16 October 2002. The person named also had seven animals slaughtered on 2 October 2002.
The person named has submitted five applications in respect of 19 animals under the 2002 special beef premium scheme. The first four applications are processed to payment stage but payments cannot issue until the outstanding area aid issues are resolved. The fifth application, which was submitted on the 14 October 2002, will be processed for payment following the completion of the two month retention period, subject to compliance with scheme requirements.
