Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Convention on the Future of Europe.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

218 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if his attention has been drawn to the joint submission to the Convention on the Future of Europe by the standing committee of experts on international immigration, refugee, and criminal law, the Immigration Law Practitioners Association, the European Council on Refugees and Exiles, and Statewatch; his position on each of the 18 demands therein; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23318/02]

The submission referred to in the Deputy's question is one of many made to the European Convention by non-governmental organisations. It has been submitted to the working group on freedom, security and justice, on which the Government is not represented. The issues raised in the submission are primarily a matter for the Minister of Justice, Equality and Law Reform, and the atten tion of his Department has been drawn to the submission.
