Question:

453 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of persons on the housing list in respect of Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Borough Council for each year from September 1997 to September 2002 inclusive; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23304/02]

Assessments of local authority housing needs are undertaken on a triennial basis and the results of the assessment carried out by local authorities in March 2002 were published recently. The previous assessments were carried out in 1998 and 1999 and 1996 and the information in relation to these assessments is set out in the following table:

454 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the number of houses built by Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Borough Council annually from 1997 to 2002 inclusive; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [23305/02]

The number of houses completed/ acquired by Kilkenny County Council and Kilkenny Borough Council under their local authority housing programmes for the years 1997 to 2001 and to the end of June 2002 is set out in the following table:
