Vol. 558 No. 1

Written Answers. - Local Authority Housing.

Kathleen Lynch

Question:

470 Ms Lynch asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position in relation to the Knocknaheeny master plan. [23693/02]

The Knocknaheeny master plan involves proposals for the refurbishment of over 500 housing units, the demolition of 90 units and the provision of a further 340 new housing units along with improvements in child care health and leisure facilities at an estimated cost of some €200 million of which approximately €150 million relates to housing. I understand that Cork City Council are now developing detailed design drawings for area D which will be considered by my Department when available from the council.
