Vol. 558 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Breeda Moynihan-Cronin

Question:

227 Ms B. Moynihan-Cronin asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reason for the delay in payment of destocking grant for 2001 and 2002 to a person (details supplied) in County Kerry; and when payment will be made. [23985/02]

According to information provided to my Department by the Department of Agriculture and Food, the person named joined the REP scheme in December 1999. He leased his farm to a family member for a period of ten years with effect from 23 December 1999. His name was cancelled from the herd number with effect from that date. The family member continued in the REP scheme. As the compensation payments from my Department are an alternative rather than an addition to REPS no payment is due to the named person, or to any other person in respect of the same farm, for 2001 and 2002.
