Question:158 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will recheck the destocking requirements in a block area (details supplied) in County Mayo. [25469/02]
Written Answers. - Destocking Regulations.
There are 22 agricultural units within the block area referred to. When destocking figures were published in February 2002 a clerical inputting error was unfortunately made on the block in question. When this error was discovered the correct figure was published. The correct figure is 70.68%.
I have recently announced arrangements under which farmers with commonage can appeal the destocking percentages recommended in the commonage framework plans. An appeal will be dealt with by way of a reassessment of the scientific basis on which the original destocking arrangements were made by the framework planning teams.
The person named lodged one application for EU special beef premium in respect of 19 animals. The application has been processed to payment stage and payment will issue shortly.
