Vol. 559 No. 1

Written Answers. - Disabled Drivers.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

202 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the extent to which he proposes to liberalise interpretation of the 1994 regulations in respect of disabled drivers and disabled passengers tax concessions, with particular reference to the interdepartmental report on this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25914/02]

The Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers (Tax Concessions) Regulations, 1994, were introduced in 1994 following a review of the operation of the scheme in question. The issue of any change in these regulations will be examined in my Department in the context of the report of the interdepartmental review group in this area. The report has been received and recommendations made therein will receive full consideration.
