Vol. 559 No. 1

Written Answers. - Health Board Services.

Pat Carey

Question:

314 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children if the Flynn report into the controversy at St. Vincent's Centre, Navan Road, Dublin 7, will be implemented by the facilitator. [25456/02]

My Department welcomes the report prepared by the facilitator appointed by local management as part of the internal process to resolve the difficulties which had arisen at the centre and is working with the Department of Education and Science to put in place the arrangements necessary to undertake the assessment of the children. The needs identified by the assessment will inform the service model to be put in place. Any decision concerning the continued involvement of the facilitator is a matter, in the first instance, for local management as it was at their request that he became involved in this process.
