Vol. 559 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Programmes.

Dan Boyle

Question:

401 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the moneys which have been expended in his Department by area and projects to date, under the RAPID and CLÁR programmes. [25859/02]

No moneys have as yet been expended in my Department under the CLÁR programme. The following Garda youth diversion projects in RAPID areas have been established and funded:

Project Name

RAPID Area

Payment

‘Five Lamps' Area

Dublin, North Inner City II

56,743

Y.I.S. Project, Oliver Bond Street Area

Dublin, South West Inner City II

104,327

Poddle Close

Dublin, South West Inner City II

71,010

Cox's Demesne, Dundalk

County Louth

86,169

Wicklow Town

Wicklow

56,743

In addition, my Department's equal opportunities childcare programme 2000-2006, under the NDP, gives particular priority to proposals located in disadvantaged areas. A number of projects, located in RAPID areas, have been funded under the equal opportunities childcare programme 2000-2006. I have been informed that records for the programme are maintained on a county basis. Consequently, a full list of projects in the 25 urban centres and 20 provincial towns under RAPID would take some time to prepare. I will make the list of projects and the amounts awarded under the EOCP in the RAPID areas available to the Deputy shortly.
