Question:

421 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reasons overtime payments have not been made in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny who attended night classes in computers in the technical school, Kilkenny; and if the matter will be fully investigated. [25651/02]

The staff member named, along with a number of colleagues, attended an evening computer training course. While the Department met the cost of this training, overtime is not payable in such circumstances.

422 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the reasons for the delay in paying a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny for a course they undertook as part of work at Ballingarry, County Tipperary; if such expenses are not paid immediately on completion of the course; and the policy of Dúchas in relation to this matter. [25652/02]

The person referred to is currently engaged by my Department in the capacity of caretaker and attended a course in relation to his duties. The expenses due will be paid shortly. It is the policy of my Department to process and pay expenses claims promptly.
