Vol. 559 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Billy Timmins

Question:

150 Mr. Timmins asked the Minister for Communications, Marine and Natural Resources the number of staff in his office who are assigned to work on constituency matters; the staff who are employed for press or public relations matters; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [26025/02]

There are three staff members in the Department and two staff members in my constituency office in Dundalk assigned to work on constituency matters. These numbers are within the staffing complement allowed to Ministers. The Department's media and information unit which handles all press, media, advertising and information matters is staffed by a press officer and three clerical staff. I also have a media adviser who is not a civil servant and who is within my staffing complement.
