Wallace asked the Minister for Transport the number of staff assigned to the driving test centre office under the aegis of his Department located at Kells Road, Navan; the number of posts of service officers located at this building; if the service officers are employed by his Department; if not, the Department by which they are employed; and if there are vacancies for service officers at this Government building. The Department of Transport has no full-time staff permanently located at this test centre. The driving test centre at Navan is serviced by assignment of driver testers from other centres on a rotational basis.
My Department has no posts for service officers located at this centre and accordingly there are no vacancies for this grade at this location in this Department. The accommodation at Kells Road, Navan is shared with the Department of Agriculture and Food which has a service officer employed there.
