Vol. 559 No. 2

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

Mary Wallace

Question:

181 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of staff assigned to the probation and welfare office under his Department located at Kells Road, Navan; the number of posts of service officers located at this building; if the service officers are employed by his Department; if not, the Department which employs them; and if there are vacancies for service officers at this Government building. [25988/02]

There are seven staff assigned to the probation and welfare office at Kells Road, Navan. There is one post of senior probation and welfare officer, five posts of probation and welfare officer and one post of clerical officer.

As is the case with local offices of the probation and welfare service, my Department does not employ any service officers at this office and, therefore, no vacancy exists.

Service officers may be employed by other Government offices located at this building but my Department would not be aware of the number employed or if vacancies exist as the probation and welfare service office has a separate entrance. Therefore its operations do not have implications for service officers in other parts of the building.
I am informed that the Department of Agriculture and Food and the Department of Social and Family Affairs also have offices at this building.
