Question:

206 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the number of service officers located at the social welfare office in Drogheda; and if there are service officers vacancies at this location. [25999/02]

I propose to take Questions Nos. 203, 204 and 206 together.

One service officer post is allocated to my Department's office in Drogheda which is manned by departmental staff. There is no vacancy for a service officer at present.

Both Kells and Trim are serviced by branch offices. These offices are operated on a contract basis by branch managers who are responsible for providing staffing for the offices.

Question:

205 Ms M. Wallace asked the Minister for Social and Family Affairs the number of staff assigned under her Department who are located at Trimgate Street, Navan; the number of service officer posts assigned to these offices; the current plan to expand this office or to move to new premises; the additional staff which will be required in such an expansion; and the timeframe on the proposed expansion. [25998/02]

The staffing allocation to my Department's local office in Navan, which is currently located at Trimgate Street, is 17.5 posts. There are no service officer posts allocated to the office at present.

In 2003 the local office in Navan and its staff will be relocated to new premises at Kennedy Row, Navan.

As with other offices of my Department, the staffing allocation to Navan, including service grades, is reviewed regularly and adjusted as required by any changes in claim loads or other relevant factors.

Question No. 206 answered with Question No. 203.
