Question:56 Mr. Cuffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he will report on the first census of organic farming carried out in 2002 according to Parliamentary Question No. 103 of 7 November 2002. [25949/02]
Written Answers. - Organic Farming.
My Department is conducting the census by way of a questionnaire which will be sent to all organic farmers and other operators in the organic sector during this month. I hope they will co-operate with the exercise and I welcome the fact that the three private organic farming bodies have undertaken to encourage their members to reply promptly and fully. My Department will collate the information received in reply to the questionnaire and the results will be published early in 2003.
