Written Answers. - Rural Environment Protection Scheme.
My recent announcement of a consultative process on the rural environment protection scheme contained an open invitation to all interested parties to take part. There are no restrictions or eligibility conditions and I look forward to hearing a wide range of views on all aspects of REPS. I have asked for initial submissions to be made before 10 January 2003 and these will be followed by direct discussions. My aim is to draw up a robust and comprehensive set of proposals on REPS which can then be submitted to the European Commission during 2003.
