Vol. 559 No. 5

Written Answers. - School Accommodation.

Finian McGrath

Question:

224 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will intervene with Ennis Educate Together National School, Ennis, County Clare, in relation to proper, safe and adequate accommodation and in order to move the project forward as soon as possible. [26634/02]

My Department authorised the school authorities, subject to certain conditions, to prepare revised tender documentation for the proposed provision of improved temporary accommodation. When this documentation is completed by the school's consultant architect, the project will be considered further in the light of the available funds in 2003 for such projects.

In the meantime, the school's board of management should use their devolved grant to deal with any urgent health and safety works.
