Vol. 559 No. 5

Written Answers. - Special Educational Needs.

Seán Crowe

Question:

226 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Science the effects the 25% cut in funding to the Education Welfare Board will have on the board; the work it plans to do; and the implications of this for access to education for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. [26636/02]

The Abridged Estimates Volume for 2003 represents the first stage of the process of determining specific allocations across the education sector. I am reviewing the position in relation to the allocation for the National Educational Welfare Board and I expect to be in a position to announce the final position at the time of publication of the 2003 Revised Estimates Volume.

Questions Nos. 227 and 228 answered with Question No. 220.
