270 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he has received a request from the Irish Medical Organisation for an urgent meeting to discuss the failure to implement the commitments of the health strategy and the pro posed funding cutbacks earmarked in the budget Estimates; and when he next proposes to meet the organisation. I have received correspondence from the IMO concerning the implications of the current budgetary climate for the implementation of the strategy. I have asked senior officials of my Department to contact the IMO so that a meeting can be arranged to discuss these issues.
