Vol. 559 No. 5

Written Answers. - Eyesight Tests.

Aengus Ó Snodaigh

Question:

316 Aengus Ó Snodaigh asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if members of the Garda Síochána have annual or regular eye tests; if not, the reason therefor; and his plans to introduce such measures. [26289/02]

Members of the Garda Síochána have eyesight tests on recruitment and on other occasions when it is necessary to have visual acuity tested for employment purposes. Arrangements are in place, for example, for Garda members to have eyesight testing carried out in accordance with visual display unit regulations.
