Question:

253 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when slaughter, special beef and national envelope payments will be made to a person (details supplied) in County Limerick. [2070/03]

The person named submitted three 2002 special beef premium applications as follows: 17 animals on 22 February 2002; 30 animals on 31 May 2002; 23 animals on 11 December 2002.

Advance payment totalling €5,640 has issued in respect of the 47 animals listed on the first two applications. Payment will commence in respect of December applications in March 2003 when the two month retention period is complete, subject to compliance with the terms and conditions of the scheme.

The person named had 73 eligible animals for 2002 slaughter premium and 22 eligible animals for national envelope payment. Advance payments totalling €4,672, in respect of all eligible slaughter premium animals, have issued to the person named. A further advance payment of €402.16 in respect of all eligible national envelope animals, has issued to the person named.

Balancing payments under these schemes will commence in April 2003 when all checks are complete and when the final special beef quota position is established.

254 Mr. Boyle asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the grant assistance his Department has made available to individuals or companies involved with bee keeping, or products derived thereof, since January 2000. [2078/03]

My Department has made payments totalling €180,041 to individuals and companies involved with beekeeping, from 1 January 2000 to date.
