255 Mr. N. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason a person (details supplied) in County Cork was not permitted to retain their milk quota during the foot and mouth disease crisis in 2001; and if his Department will re-examine the matter. [2085/03]

The person named sold his entire quota into the 2000-01 milk quota restructuring scheme. Prior to that, he temporarily leased his quota for the maximum period permissible under the regulations. There is no further action required on the part of my Department in this matter.
