Question:287 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Finance if a design team has been appointed in relation to the new Garda station for Leixlip, County Kildare; when planning permission will be applied for; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [1675/03]
I propose to take Questions Nos. 266 and 287 together.
A site has been acquired by the Commissioners of Public Works at Station Road, Leixlip for the provision of a new Garda station. A design team is being appointed at present. It is anticipated that the planning consultation procedure will proceed this summer and that construction work will commence before the end of 2003.
