Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Civil Service Recruitment.

Michael Ring

Question:

283 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Finance if the Civil Service and Local Appointments Commissioners will be recruiting following their advertisements for the position of executive officer in the Dublin region; if there will be further advertisements for the appointment of executive officers outside of the Dublin region; if so, when; and when interviews will be held. [1577/03]

The Civil Service Commissioners recently advertised an open recruitment competition for appointment to the post of executive officer in Dublin locations. It is intended that successful candidates in this competition will be appointed to vacancies in such posts as appropriate.

It is also intended that a further open recruitment competition for appointment to the post of executive officer in provincial locations will be held in 2003. It is provisionally planned that the proposed competition be advertised in May 2003. However, details for the administration of the various stages of the proposed competition have not been finalised and it is not possible at this stage to confirm when interviews will be held.
