Vol. 560 No. 1

Written Answers. - Speech Therapy Service.

Seán Crowe

Question:

396 Mr. Crowe asked the Minister for Education and Science the number of speech and language therapists employed in primary and secondary schools; the number of requests for speech and language therapists currently outstanding, at primary and secondary level; the names of the schools, at primary and secondary, from which such requests have been made; the number of students at each school with such an outstanding request which are affected by the lack of a speech and language therapist; and the number of students who are currently receiving speech and language therapy. [1451/03]

Responsibility for the provision of speech and language therapy services, including the provision of such services in schools, is a matter for the relevant health authority. I will arrange to bring the Deputy's question to the attention of the Department of Health and Children.
